We have restored some of your teeth with tooth-colored materials. The resin material used contains small “filer” particles of glass-like materials for strength and wear resistance. These restorations will serve you well for several years. They contain the finest and most up-to-date materials today. However you should be aware of the following information about your new restorations:

As with natural teeth, avoid chewing excessively hard foods on the filled teeth (hard candy, ice, raw carrots, etc.) because the resin material can break under extreme forces.

It is extremely important for the temporary crown/bridge to remain on the tooth until we seat your permanent crown/bridge. If your temporary crown becomes loose or comes off at any time, please call the office immediately. Your tooth can shift within a few hours if your temporary is missing, which can inhibit the placement of your permanent crown. You may also experience sensitivity if your temporary comes off.

Please note: With your temporary, avoid hard and chewy foods (such as ice, hard candy, gum, taffy). These are known to pull temporaries off the prepared tooth.

  • Use Sensitive Toothpaste before and after bleaching.
  • If you have sensitivity you may wait a day or two and bleach every other day for your comfort zone.
  • Sensitivity may be caused by placing too much bleach in the tray.
  • One dot per tooth in you tray is sufficient.
  • Any questions please call our office.
  • Bleaching refills are available in our office for touch-ups.
